The High Desert and the Sniffles

Our Uber picked us up at 4:30 am to get to the airport and fly in-country, to Calama in the Atacama Desert. It was a two-hour flight. We flew over the mountains,  salt flats and the driest desert in the world.
At the airport we had to get a transfer shuttle to San Pedro de Atacama, a dusty little tourist town an hour away. They dropped us at our BnB and we slept all afternoon! Neither one of us is feeling well and the 6,600 ft altitude saps us anyway.
This eve. we gathered our strength to walk to the center of town to line up some tours for the next two days, and find something to eat.
We tried a pisco sour and Peruvian ceviche with salmon, shrimp, and octopus at Cafe Adobe. Yum.
It's 8:45pm and just nearing dusk. Nights here are cold and days are hot (90 degrees today) with a very intense sun.
I'm sure hoping we both wake up feeling better tomorrow. Bummer.
