Pablo Neruda House
We have a very comfortable place to stay in a great part of town. We are right in the middle of all the action. We did hours of walking today. There is street art everywhere.

TWO ole' grannies... can you find them?
The houses are colorful and quirky. With all the hills, tourists, live music, and shops Valpo lives up to its description of a lively Bohemian city on the coast.
We walked to Pablo Neruda's Valparaiso home. He's a famous Chilean poet and diplomat who died in 1973 just as Pinochet came to power. The house had 5 stories, each with great views of the city and the harbor. No wonder his poetry was so inspired.

If I had walked up and down these steep streets daily for awhile, I could have done the 22 km staight up hike that we passed on in Torres del Paine! I'm gonna be feeling it tonight. Oh wait, there's the miracle of Ibuprophen!
We had Peruvian food for dinner tonight. So good. Shared a platter of ceviche and a rice and roasted shrimp, chicken, and beef dish.
